My name is Terry Fox, I am currently the pastor of a large and fast growing Baptist Church in the State of Kansas.  Upon hearing that Sid Moore was entering the race for Office of Sheriff in the County of Live Oak, I felt compelled to write this letter.

I was Senior Pastor of Gardendale Baptist Church in Corpus Christi in the 1980's and was very involved with crisis intervention of children at risk.  This often led me to saving adolescents that were forced into drug environments.  I first met Sid Moore while he was a Narcotics Agent for the Nueces County Sheriff's Office.  I was so impressed with his ability to handle critical situations and still remain calm, in control and empathetic to the innocent children.  I believe character is something that you can not turn off or on like a light.  You either have it - or you don't.  I recognized that Sid Moore was a man of character and I developed a working relationship with him that lasted 10 years, while I was in Corpus Christi.  If I ever needed anything, I knew I could call on Sid and he would deliver, not because he was under obligation to do so, but because he wanted to help.  He wanted to do the right thing whatever the situation.

Over the years, I watched Sid conduct investigations that might not have been politically correct, but was the right thing to do.  This includes high profile cases and high profile individuals.  I watched Sid endure political pressure, emotional pressure, and professional pressure that would have made most men of granite crumble.  Sid Moore stayed the course without wavering.  As a result, when all is said and done, Sid not only did his job but proved that men of character still exists and in the process protected our community, and most importantly our children.

I am envious of Live Oak County.  I believe that the Citizens of Live Oak are fortunate to have a man like Sid as a neighbor, a Citizen and most importantly, a Sheriff.
